The Knapp-Chesnut-Becker Historical Society of Middletown invites and encourages all to participate in a fundraiser at Country-Aire Restaurant in Atlanta, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fried chicken is its specialty on Wednesdays.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to do necessary maintenance on the Knapp-Chesnut-Becker Library/Museum in Middletown. The necessary maintenance on the building is tuck pointing and sealing the brick, pressure washing the wooden roof shingles, painting trim, and other general repairs.

The Knapp-Chesnut-Becker Library/Museum is the oldest brick building in Logan County. It was originally the Knapp Store and Post Office in Middletown back in 1840 and was often frequented by Abraham Lincoln. It is now a local library and museum for visitors to see some of the history in the oldest town in Logan County.

Please join us on April 6th at the Country-Aire Restaurant in Atlanta to enjoy good food and to help preserve the oldest brick building in Logan County. Thank you.
