[April 12, 2022]   Hello, my name is Suzi and I have been a 911 Telecommunicator with Logan County for 6 years.

Over the years we have seen an increase in Medical Calls. With that said, all Telecommunicators with the Logan County Sheriff's Office are EMD certified. EMD stands for Emergency Medical Dispatch.

What does that mean for you? That means when you call 911 for a medical emergency, the Telecommunicator will ask you a series of questions related to your emergency. The questions asked will help us to determine your priority symptoms so we can provide you with the highest level of care.

While you may think the questions are delaying the response, that is simply not the case. As the Telecommunicator is asking these questions, their partner is already dispatching the appropriate personnel. Always provide the most accurate information possible to the Telecommunicator.

The information you provide is relayed to emergency responders. Also, the Telecommunicator may provide pre-arrival instructions while you are waiting for emergency responders to arrive on scene.
