[April 12, 2022]   My name is Josh and I have been a 911 Telecommunicator for Logan County for 8 years. Being a 911 Telecommunicator has been interesting over the years. You never know what is waiting for you on the other end of the line when you answer a call. People's worst days are our everyday.

We are the lifeline between people in need and necessary emergency services.

No two days are alike for Emergency Telecommunicators, and things can get lively at times. Our responsibilities include taking people's phone calls when they are most in need, asking specific questions to determine the nature of the emergency and then alerting the appropriate agencies to respond.

We are aware that when you call 911 that there is usually an emergency waiting and people needing help. We ask you to assist us in knowing your location, so we can send you help.

Please try and be as patient as you can. We know it can be hard but the calmer you are, the quicker we can get the information that we need to send the appropriate agencies out to assist you. It may seem like the questions we ask are taking a lot of time, but in reality, we are multi-tasking and getting help paged out to you as we are asking the questions so that our agencies know what they are responding to and can prepare themselves in how to best assist you when they get to you. We are here to help you and guide you through your worst days.
