[April 15, 2022]   Hello, I’m Callie and the newest member of the Logan Dispatch Family.

Teaching your children the basics of calling 911 could be the matter of life or death in some situations.

No child wants to call 911, but with some basic knowledge, children may feel less fearful to call that dreaded emergency line. Children should understand that the strangers they are calling are there to help them and comfort them. We will do our best to help children through the 911 call, but we also need to get some information so we can send help as soon as possible.

Teaching kids their address, their parents' phone numbers and their parents' names, and how to point out landmarks can be very helpful. Also, teaching them to NOT hang up on 911 is super helpful. Teaching them that the most important thing we need to know is location can make the response time much quicker and effective.
