Shortly before sunrise on Monday, Aug. 2, a surprise F1 Tornado struck near Beason. Various areas of Logan County suffered wind damages including a portion of the grandstands on the Logan County fairgrounds. Heavy rain made the race track unusable for harness races this day. Subsequent more heavy rains and threats of severe weather impacted grandstand events through Wednesday. Grounds foreman Mike Maske met around the back of the truck with other team members early morning to determine priorities. The team was kept hopping all week moving seating and accommodating hot weather related needs. Our compliments to the team and the Fair Board at keeping up with so many needs and changes.

As the darkness fell and the lights shone brightly from a distance, it was time to say good-bye to the 2022 Logan County Fair.

It was a good week, with many people attending various events. For those who tended to vendor booths daily, kept watch over the many exhibits in the exhibition barns, or worked with and showed livestock, it was a long, tiring, but gratifying week. We all love the fair. We're glad to see it come, get giddy at the thought of it, and sigh a big sigh of relief when it is over.

But, we are also already looking forward to 2023 and the 87th Annual Logan County Fair. We'll see you then!!
