Saturday evening was rather cold, but the warm-hearted spirit of Christmas and friendship won the day.

Lincoln Christian Church invited everyone to come and celebrate a Hometown Christmas.

Families enjoyed horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, Mike's Little Train Rides for small children, and making crafts for Christmas gifts and ornaments for the tree, all while enjoying cookies and hot chocolate.

Santa was on hand for photos and ready to take gift requests. One little girl wanted a dictionary for Christmas, while her brother wanted VR (a virtual reality headset). The Grinch was even on the scene and permitting photo ops.

Even an eight-week puppy had to take a nap from all the activity going on.

Amid the flurry of things to do and people to see, a huge sign on the wall that said, "This is for EVERYONE."

And isn't that what Christmas is all about?
