Payton Cook led Lincoln with 15 points as the
Railers defeated Mattoon 43-24.
The two teams were tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter,
with Cook scoring all of the Railers points in the first eight
minutes of play.
The Railers put 16 points on the board in the second quarter,
with Jake Bivin leading the way with six points. At the half
Lincoln was on top 23-13.
Cook led the team in scoring in the third quarter as the Railers
lead grew to 35-19.
Lincoln goes on to win 43-24.
The Railers improved their record to 4-1 on the season.
The Railers JV team defeated Mattoon 58-46.
Three Railers scored in double-figures: Brady Miller (12), Blake
Horn (10) and Drew Hayes (10).
Lincoln will host Taylorville on Tuesday night. The JV is
scheduled to start at 6 p.m. The Varsity will tip-off at 7:30
p.m.
