The Lincoln Railers were on the road to Washington, Illinois on
Wednesday night and picked up a 50-25 victory over the Panthers.
Lincoln led the game 12-7 at the end of the first quarter. Both
Payton Cook and Ki’on Carson scored four points here, while Tyler
Sasse added a three and Drew Hayes sank one free throw.
Five 3s by the Railers told the story for the second quarter. Camden
Nelson and Aidan Gowin each tossed in two 3s while Sasse added
another one and this guided the Railers to a 27-13 lead at the half.
Trey Schilling and Gowin each tallied a three in the third quarter
and the Railers continued to build on the lead over the Panthers. At
the end of the third quarter the Railers led the game 39-20.
Carson and Hayes each scored four points in the fourth quarter and
with Nelson sinking one more three for Lincoln, the Railers
double-up the Panthers and take a 50-25 win home.
It had been a long time since the Railers played in Washington and
hopefully they’ll be invited back.
The Railers are riding a hot streak, having not suffered a loss
since the Eaton Thanksgiving Tournament in Lincoln.
The Railers have won nine games in a row and they
have improved their record to 10-1 on the season.

points for the Railers.
