Lady Railers crush Rockford Jefferson 81-21
Froebe, Heitzig and Bowman lead team with double-digit scoring

[December 28, 2022]   The Lady Railers opened play in the 2022 Dixon-KSB Holiday Classic on Tuesday afternoon and quickly disposed of their opponent, Rockford Jefferson, by a final score of 81-21.

 

A trio of juniors led the Lady Railers in scoring. Kloe Froebe outscored the opposing team with 27 points, Becca Heitzig tossed in 16 points and Jenna Bowman scored 10 points against the Jefferson J-Hawks.

Lincoln led 25-7 at the end of the first quarter. Six Lady Railers poured in points in the first quarter, with Froebe scoring seven points and Heitzig contributing six points. Piper Whiteman drained a three while coming in off the bench.

By halftime the Lady Railers were up 53-11 over the J-Hawks. Froebe scored 15 points in the second quarter. Bowman was good for six points in the quarter and Whiteman wasn’t shying away from the basket as she scored five points.

The Lady Railers were a runaway train in the third quarter, too, and the J-Hawks drifted farther behind. Lincoln led 73-16 at the end of three quarters of play. The Lady Railers were led by Heitzig, who had eight points in the third quarter. Froebe tossed in five points here and it was Mia Clark adding a three to pad the lead.

Makinley Knapp, Ceana Adams and Clark completed the scoring in the fourth quarter for Lincoln to set the final score at 81-21.

Lincoln improved their record to 15-0 on the season.

Rockford Jefferson falls to 8-4 on the season.
