A trio of scorers led the Lady Toppers to the
victory over Hillsboro: Wade (25), Davis (12) and Murphy (10).
The Lady Toppers trailed 18-11 after the first quarter against
Hillsboro. Davis and Wade accounted for the first quarter
offense for Mount Pulaski.
The Lady Toppers turned up the heat in the second quarter and
took a 29-28 lead. Wade poured in 12 of the 18 points scored by
Mount Pulaski, while Davis added four points and Murphy tossed
in two points.
Hailee Daigh and Wade combined to score 12 points in the third
quarter and the Lady Toppers held onto a 41-39 lead.
The fourth quarter did not lack in excitement and with Murphy
and Chandler igniting the offense with threes, Mount Pulaski
came out on top 58-57 over Hillsboro.
The Lady Toppers improved their record to 14-3 overall on the
season.
Mount Pulaski is 3-0 in the tournament and they will play PORTA/AC
tonight at 6 p.m. in the semifinals.
