Letters to the Editor

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Republicans block the way to a better America

To the editor:

Joe Biden and Congress recently have given us funds to help us pay our bills, to help parents pay for day care, to help our schools make needed repairs, to extend internet connectivity, and to make Covid testing and vaccinations available to all. Republicans tried but failed to stop Democrats from providing these benefits. Because midterm elections are coming this fall Republicans now are determined to block further Democratic initiatives, e.g., a bill to insure that women will not be forced to tailor their health care to fit limitations prescribed by someone else’s religion. The time has come for us to tell our Republican legislators to get out of the way of further Democratic efforts to protect our rights and to improve our lives.
