[February 01, 2022]
In anticipation of the forecast of 12 inches or more of snow over
the next 24 to 36 hours, the snow route parking bands will be in
effect beginning at 5:00 PM Tuesday February 1, 2022.
The parking ban will be in place until 5:00 PM Thursday.
Staff are anticipating having to plow areas at least twice if not
more.
The Lincoln Street Department would like to remind residents who
live along marked Snow Routes that parking on the street is
prohibited after 2" of snow and until the street has been plowed.
Residents should seek alternative parking. Also, be reminded of the
2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. no parking areas in the downtown area.
It is also encouraged that residents throughout the city refrain
from parking on the streets and find alternative parking if at all
possible. This will greatly enhance the ability of crews to plow the
streets sooner and more complete.

As soon as the crews finish plowing operations, they will begin treating streets
with salt. The forecast is calling for extremely cold temperatures Thursday
night through Friday. This will limit the effectiveness of any treatment to the
streets so expect slippery driving conditions until warmer weather arrives
Saturday.
If you have to travel, please do so with extreme caution and give snow removal
crews space while traveling.
If there are any questions or concerns contact Street Superintendent Walt
Landers at 217-732-4655.
