Lady Railers win Regional Championship over Centennial 56-27

[February 19, 2022] The Lady Railers handled the Champaign Centennial Chargers rather easily Friday night to win the Class 3A Regional Championship at Champaign Central. Lincoln defeated Champaign Centennial 56-27. 

Kloe Froebe poured in nine first quarter points to guide the Lady Railers to 16-13 lead over Centennial.

Ryen Stoltzenburg and Jenna Bowman each contributed six points in the second quarter and the Lady Railer defense held the Chargers to just three points. At the half Lincoln had doubled up the Chargers, with the score 32-16.

Another big third quarter from the Lady Railers, led by Froebe’s 11 points here, put Lincoln way out in front, 49-20 the score.

Lincoln coasts in the fourth quarter to the 56-27 final.

Kloe Froebe led the Lady Railers with 26 points. Jenna Bowman tossed in 10 points.

Lincoln improved to 23-8 on the season. 

The Lady Railers will host the Class 3A Sectional Tournament this week on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Roy S. Anderson.

Lincoln will play Decatur MacArthur Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 6 p.m.

Mahomet-Seymour will play Rochester in the 7:30 p.m. game that night.

The sectional championship will be played at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Lincoln will host.

No fans will be turned away who are unable to buy advance tickets.

In the Three-Point Showdown Kloe Froebe (Lincoln), Addy McLeod (Champaign Central), Aleah Emers (Champaign Centennial) and Lainey Somers (Champaign Central) all advanced to the next round.
