Lincoln appeared to be cruising over Urbana for three quarters, leading by 20 points at one point, but in the end the Railers were forced to hang on for the 53-49 win.

The Railers were off to a 17-4 first quarter lead. Six Railers scored in the first quarter, with Tyler Sasse hitting two 3s to lead Lincoln.

By the time halftime rolled around, the Railers were on top 29-9.

Payton Cook’s five points in the third quarter led the Railers offense to a 42-23 lead.

Just when an easy win looked to be on the horizon, Urbana came back in the fourth quarter and scored more points here than they had all night long. Their 26 points scored in the fourth quarter included six 3s. The Railers relied on seven points from Elijah Pollice to lead them down the stretch and thanks to a big lead early on, the Railers were able to survive and advance with the 53-49 win.

Elijah Pollice led Lincoln with 16 points.

The Railers improved to 25-7 on the season.
