The American Legion Auxiliary of Lincoln supports Americanism and
Patriotism and is sponsoring an Americanism Essay Contest to help
instill in our students the ideals of Americanism, Patriotism and
Good Citizenship.
The topic for the essay is ”Patriotism: How We Are More Alike Than
Different”.
The contest is open to all students in the seventh through 12th
grades in the local Lincoln schools, and those home-schooled.
Area grade schools and the high school guidance department have been
given the information for the contest.

Information and guidelines can also be obtained by calling Diane Farmer,
Americanism Chairman, at 217-871-1179.
Essays must be received by February 4, 2022. They may be turned into the
students’ school or mailed to Diane Farmer, 1209 700th Avenue, Lincoln, IL
62656. Essays may also be dropped off at the American Legion on 5th Street.
