[January 24, 2022] The Hilltoppers traveled to Pawnee on Saturday afternoon to take on the Indians. With the Hilltoppers continuing to have the hot hand shooting, they walked away with a 74-58 win.

Aidan Schneider absolutely dominated the offense in the first quarter, scoring 16 of the Hilltoppers 18 points to guide Mount Pulaski to an 18-11 first quarter lead. Schneider drained four three-point shots in the first quarter.

Schneider was quiet on offense in the second quarter, but his teammates made noise. Evan Cooper tossed in seven points and Lane Murphy scored six points. Lucas Kuhlman added four points and Cullen Tyson made one basket. This offensive explosion put the Hilltoppers in the lead, 37-21 at the half.

Cooper and Clay Aylesworth made it rain threes in the third quarter. Each of them tossed in two threes, with Aylesworth firing off a buzzer-beater a few steps over the center court line as the third quarter came to a close. In addition, with Schneider and Murphy adding to their point totals in the quarter, Mount Pulaski maintained a comfortable 56-41 lead.

With Murphy and Schneider each scoring seven points in the fourth quarter and Cooper adding four points, the Hilltoppers kept up their pace of scoring 18 to 19 points a quarter and the win looked easy on paper. Mount Pulaski dances to the 74-58 afternoon win over Pawnee.
