Mount Pulaski wins 8th Grade Logan County Tournament

[January 28, 2022] The Mount Pulaski Bruins defeated the Chester-East Lincoln Panthers 48-32 to win the 2022 8th Grade Logan County Championship held on the campus of Lincoln College. 

 

Mount Pulaski led 18-14 over the Panthers at the end of the first quarter. Making some good moves in the paint, Beau Tschantz poured in nine first quarter points for the Bruins. The Panthers’ Karson Komnick scored 10 points in the first quarter.

 

The Bruins were led by Eric Cooper in the second quarter. Cooper scored nine points to guide the Bruins to a 33-19 halftime lead. 

 

Cooper, Franklin Wade and Luke Martin led the Mount Pulaski offense in the third quarter, allowing the Bruins to pull ahead 40-25. 

 

With Tschantz scoring six more points in the fourth quarter and Tucker Fitzpatrick adding a basket, the Bruins claimed the county title by a final score of 48-32. 

 

With a strong inside game and making great use of the backboard, Beau Tschantz led Mount Pulaski with 19 points.

Karson Komnick led his team with an impressive performance, pouring in 21 points for Chester-East Lincoln.
