Western Governors University recently awarded grant funds to two local teachers.

First grade teacher at Chester-East Lincoln Elementary School, Whitney Kessinger received a $550 grant.

Tenth grade English teacher at Lincoln Community High School, Samantha Murphy, received $1,200.

Both teachers will use the "Fund My Classroom" grants to enhance the learning experiences of their respective students.

Lincoln Economic Advancement and Development Executive Director Andrea Runge was recently added to the board of directors of the Illinois Economic Development Association at the annual summit in Chicago.
