At its 2022 Economic Development Summit in Chicago,
the Illinois Economic Development Association (IEDA) adopted its new
Board of Directors. Included on the list is Lincoln Economic
Advancement & Development, Inc.’s (LEAD) CEO, Andrea Runge.
IEDA works to increase Illinois competitiveness in a global economy.
Its mission is accomplished through the collaborative efforts,
training and professional development opportunities, opportunity
awareness, and serving as the unified voice of professional economic
developers throughout Illinois. To best serve the diverse footprint
of Illinois, IEDA elects its Board of Directors through regional
representation. Runge will join the Board as one of the
representatives of the Central Illinois Region.
Runge’s appointment comes just after LEAD’s first year of
operations. Even though the position on the Board of Directors is
held by Runge personally, the advantages for Lincoln’s business
community are not lost on Runge. “It is always best to have a finger
on the pulse of what is happening in this ever-changing environment.
Being a part of the Illinois Economic Development Association Board
of Directors will allow me to network with other professionals,
envision the Illinois economic horizon line, and bring back that
information to our Lincoln businesses,” Runge said.
