[March 10, 2022]  The community is invited to attend an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 17th at the new USA Mortgage office in Lincoln. The office managed by Tiffany Winebrinner is located at 604 Broadway Street in the former YMCA offices.

Many people may recognize Winebrinner due to her many years of service in the mortgage department at CEFCU in Lincoln. She worked at CEFCU in both Springfield and Lincoln for a total of 17 years. During that time, Winebrinner says that she loved her job and loved working for CEFCU. When USA Mortgage approached her with an offer, she was surprised and very doubtful that they could offer anything that would pull her away from CEFCU.

Winebrinner said during the time that she was in talks with USA Mortgage, she was pleasantly surprised by the impression they made on her. There were many things about the company that she liked, including the fact that USA Mortgage is employee-owned. Winebrinner said that she feels that when a company is employee-owned the people are more deeply invested in the success of the company. They care about the outcome of each potential client interaction and work harder to make sure that the clients get what they need and expect from a mortgage company.

In addition, she said that she was impressed to learn that USA Mortgage had been placed in the “Top 50 best places to work for mortgage professionals” in National Mortgage News, a well-respected trade publication.

She also likes the fact that USA Mortgage is civic minded and community oriented. The company encourages their representatives to be involved in the community, which is something she appreciates very much.

Winebrinner said that the company representatives were thorough in providing information and they answered all of her questions with ease. In the end, she said that probably she was as surprised as anyone, when she came to realize that this company was offering her an opportunity that she was really excited about.

Winebrinner began her new career with USA Mortgage on October 25th, 2021. She began working from home and said she got off to a slow start. With no face to face interaction, she felt that prospects had the impression that they were dealing with just another online mortgage company, and weren’t interested in making such important decisions interfacing with a computer.

The goal had always been to open an office in Lincoln and Winebrinner was excited when she was able to relocate to the former YMCA office. She said that she has a window unit and can look out on the community she loves. She also likes being downtown for its walkability when she takes a break, and she loves being next door to Flossie and Delzena’s where she can grab a quick coffee or a lunch without driving anywhere.

Winebrinner said now that she has an office downtown, business is picking up and it is exciting and a bit humbling. “People come in because they know me from CEFCU and want to work with me.” She said that was kind of a surprise for her when folks would say they had come to USA Mortgage not for the new company, but for the person they got to know and enjoyed working with in the past.

A St. Louis based company, USA Mortgage opened for business in 2001. Since that time, the company has enjoyed growth and success by building a good reputation with good people representing the firm in communities throughout the region.

The company offers a huge variety of mortgage services and assistance, from FHA to reverse mortgages, to boilerplate mortgages with traditional investors and banks and even down payment assistance programs. The role of USA Mortgage is to couple home buyers with the right investors and finance programs to make home ownership possible. Winebrinner’s task is to work with buyers to find programs that fit their needs, then assist them in selecting the right investor or bank to accommodate those needs.

On March 17th the open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. will be an opportunity for the community to stop by, visit with Winebrinner and enjoy some light refreshments, and learn more about the new company.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be hosted at the office at 2 p.m. The community is encouraged to come out for the ribbon cutting and stay for the open house.
