Zion Lutheran School - Lincoln to observe National Lutheran Schools Week with special events and activities

[March 08, 2022]   Students at Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln will celebrate National Lutheran Schools week starting Monday. The week will be loaded with special activities and events plus special dress-up days where students will be allowed to wear outfits and accessories not typically seen in the classroom.

Monday, March 7th, will be Hobbies and Careers Day at the school. Students will spend the day attending sessions where they will learn about various hobbies and careers.

In line with the theme for the day, students will be permitted to dress up as their top career choice or any favorite career.

On Tuesday, March 8th, the third through eighth-graders will participate in a Spelling bee at 1 p.m. There will be an Early Childhood Open House at the school from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The community is invited to attend the open house bringing along any child between the ages of two and five years old.

The dress-up theme for the day will be Mismatch and Hat Day. Kids can wear their favorite hat to school or come to school in a purposely mismatched outfit.

Wednesday, March 9th, will be Special Persons Day. Each student is invited to bring one guest to school. The day will begin with a breakfast with their special guest and end with an early dismissal at 11:30 a.m.

The dress-up theme will be Dress Your Best Day. Because the students will be bringing special guests to school with them, they are encouraged to dress up in their very best outfits.

Thursday will be the Zion Lutheran Open House and History Fair, starting at 5:30 p.m. and concluding at 7 p.m. The community is invited to attend.

'The dress-up theme for the day will be Tourist Day. Students are encouraged to dress in their favorite vacation clothing that shows their style and the vacations they enjoy.

Friday, the students will enjoy reading time with other classes and a movie in the afternoon.

The dress-up theme will be Pajama Day. Who doesn't enjoy reading a story or watching a movie in their pajamas, or just spending the day all cozy comfy? Children are encouraged to take advantage of this last activity of the week to be cozy, comfy, and casual all day long!
