Second Veteran Tiny Home to be dedicated Monday, May 9th

Monday, May 9, 2022 at 6pm, Corner of College and 6th Street in Lincoln, Illinois.

CIVC, a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, will be dedicating the 2nd Veteran’s Tiny Home on Monday, May 9th to David Hennessey and his wife Tecia.

The tiny home construction began Friday, April 1, 2022. Contractors and volunteers across the County worked diligently to help fulfill the vision and mission of the Central Illinois Veterans Commission. CIVC is thankful for the outpouring of support from the community.

CIVC’s mission is to provide Central Illinois veterans with the tools and support systems
to enable them to move forward to obtain a permanent home.

CIVC’s vision is to provide honorable and general discharged veterans with holistic services designed to eliminate barriers in obtaining permanent sustainable housing. The CIVC will partner with the VA, civic organizations, human service agencies, the Board of Health and community colleges to ensure each veteran has access to services.

The inclusive services offered by CIVC to veterans include mental health counseling, workplace skills/training, accredited college courses, financial and life coaching, housing assistance programs and skilled trade schools.
