Saturday, May 7th, attendees of the Mount Pulaski Junior/Senior prom enjoyed their moment in the spotlight as they participated in the annual Prom Grand March on the steps of the Mount Pulaski Courthouse.

As part of the prelude to prom, the 2022 Prom King and Queen were announced. King Lucas Kuhlman and Queen Elana Bruns were joined at the foot of the courthouse steps by the rest of the royal court for a group photo.

After many photo ops, attendees then headed off to Springfield for an evening meal and prom dance at Poe's on the Hill.

On Monday evening, the keys to the second Veteran Tiny Home in Lincoln were presented to Veteran Dave Hennessey and his wife, Tecia.

The 6 p.m. ceremony included comments from Joe Schaler of the Central Illinois Veterans Commission, Dan Benedict of the Logan County Veterans Commission, and Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch.

A drawing was held for a 1911 pistol. Lesleigh Bennett provided music and a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place. Guests were then invited to tour the new home of the Hennesseys’.

LDN will have additional coverage of the event in a future edition.
