The Lincoln Memorial Hospital Market officially opened on Saturday, May 7th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony before the first "ringing of the bell," signaling an invitation for shoppers to come on in and take advantage of all the fresh food products offered through vendors from the area.

Those standing before a large crowd of anxious shoppers for the cut included (l to r) Logan County Tourism Director Alice Roate, Lincoln City Clerk Peggy Bateman, Illinois Representative Tim Butler, State Senator Sally Turner, Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch, LMH administrator Dolan Dalpoas, LMH Community Health Collaborative Director Angela Stotzenburg and CHC Assistant Cindy Smith, Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation Director Riley Brackney, Junior Miss Logan County Alayna Briggs and Little Miss Logan County Sophia Farmer.

The market will be open on Saturdays through September 24th. Hours for the market are 8 a.m. to noon each week.

In today's edition, read about the ribbon cut and take a pictorial walkabout at the market.
