[May 19, 2022]    Have you ever had a hankering to be a pilot and fly?

Members of the Havana EAA Chapter 1420 want to encourage anyone 18 and older with an interest in aviation to come to the Havana Regional Airport on Saturday, May 21 for a free introductory ride.

“Eagle Flights” are a nationally sanctioned EAA event to make an introduction to flying accessible to a wide range of individuals 18 and up.

“No matter what age you are, it is never too late to learn to fly,” said EAA member Bob Martin who got his pilot’s license at the age of 57.

EAA President Evan Houghton added that there are many career opportunities available for new pilots with a large number of senior airline pilots expected to be retiring in the next few years.

Numerous area pilots will be on hand to answer questions and give those attending rides around the area to get a feel for flight in the friendly local skies.

The airport is located 6 miles south of Havana just off Route 97. Watch for signs.
