On Thursday morning, the new Farm & Home Supply in Lincoln kicked off a four-day grand opening event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The store will be open with many activities throughout the Memorial Day weekend. Also, there are a lot of freebies they are giving away and chances to enter for some awesome door prizes.

Read more about the store and the Thursday event in today's edition of Lincoln Daily News.

Something is missing in downtown Lincoln this morning.

On Thursday, city street crews took down the remaining electric traffic control lights at the intersection of Pulaski and Kickapoo Streets. Some will recall that the lights have not worked properly for the last several years, and at that intersection, stop signs were being used, while at the junction of Kickapoo and Broadway, the lights flash to indicate a four-way stop. This is because the electric signals are so old that the city can no longer get repair parts. When the lights stopped functioning properly, the best option at the time was to make them flashers with red lights only.

At the Pulaski and Kickapoo intersection, stop signs will be permanently installed on decorative posts.
