Missy’s Sweet Shoppe to open in historic Palm’s Grill Cafe

The Palm’s Grill Café on Historic Route 66 in Atlanta, Illinois will reopen its doors – this time as Missy’s Sweet Shoppe.

Missy Gaither, who is leasing the property from the Atlanta Public Library, has previously operated her bakery out of her home for the past 15 years. This will be her first storefront.

In the past, the Palm’s has operated as a full-service restaurant. However, Missy’s will instead operate as a bakery. Gaither plans to offer cookies, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and other items. A special Route 66 cookie and cupcake will also be featured on the menu.

Missy’s Sweet Shoppe will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 8am to 4pm during the summer months. A soft opening is scheduled for June 2nd with a grand opening to follow on June 10th.
