The Travel Tap serves cold beverages to thirsty trick or treaters
New business hosts ribbon cutting on Halloween night in Lincoln

[November 04, 2022]   On Monday evening, right before the ghosts and ghouls came out for trick or treating on Halloween night, John Martinek and his two partners Nathan Hoefs and Vic Martinek prepared to snip the ribbon on their new business.

The trio has started a beverage delivery service called The Travel Tap. It includes a refrigerated trailer with six beverage taps from which any variety of pourable may be served.

Martinek explained that the business plan includes providing the delivery of the trailer to a venue and manning the taps. The beverages served are the responsibility of the venue.

The Travel Tap is available for parties, weddings or other get togethers and has already had its first wedding which he said went well. By not providing the beverage, Martinek said that the tap is available to any type of party and can serve anything from soft drinks, sports drinks, punches, beer or wine.
 

On Monday evening, Lincoln Daily News assisted with the ribbon cutting and welcomed the new business to the community. Martinek spoke on behalf of the partners saying that he was happy to be able to celebrate the new business and was looking forward to the future.

Asked if the Tap would be a full-time career, he said that right now all three partners have full time work, and they intend to operate the Tap as an aside to their other jobs. For the time being, they plan to keep the business small, but also see the potential to have additional trailers so that they can accommodate more than one venue at a time.

Joining the Martineks and Hoefs behind the ribbon Monday night were fellow business owners Joe Ryan and Greg ‘Haji’ Patel. The two men said they were there to show support for a new business in the community.

When the speaking was finished, Martinek held the scissor for a posed picture then with the traditional countdown snipped the ribbon on the new business.

For Halloween, the wagon was dressed in fall attire and on tap was cold apple cider and Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew from Guesthouse Coffee and Pastries. Trick or Treaters were offered the cold beverages throughout the evening.
