Obituary
Beloved redheaded firecracker Jane
Marie McKinlay Carroll (67), born November 26, 1954,
passed away at St. John's Hospital in Springfield,
on November 3, 2022.
Born and raised in Lincoln, Jane met her husband
Dennis at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in the
fall of 1989. The lovebirds married on June 29, 1991
and raised three children together, Brian “I’m a Dad
Now” (Suzie) Carroll of Chicago, Patrick “Woah, You
Got Tall” Carroll of St. Louis, MO, and their
"favorite daughter" Meredith Carroll of Spring Hill,
TN.
Jane spent many years involved with Lincoln
Community Theatre and serving as the “AR Lady” at
CEL Elementary. Known as "Mom" to many, Jane loved
her children's friends as her own and was always
ready with a hug and reassuring words for those who
needed it.
Jane was an amazing seamstress and
crocheter, always keen to give away her creations to
those around her. She was adored by so many. We
always joked that though her red hair was fading
with time, her fiery spirit was only growing
stronger. |
Jane is survived by her husband,
three children, grandson Lewis Carroll (3) of
Chicago, three sisters, two brothers, one aunt, and
many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her
sister Nancy Nettoff.
Visitation will take place at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader funeral home on Wednesday,
November 9, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A memorial
service will be held at the same venue on Thursday,
November 10, 2022 at 10 a.m.
Flowers can be sent to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home and memorial donations can be made to
Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Logan County Humane
Society, or the Marine Corps League.
