[November 01, 2022]   On Friday, October 22, members of the community gathered at 507 Pulaski Street to help welcome Prairie Land Title to the community. The Lincoln offices are the third in the complete operation with the other two offices being in Springfield as Prairie Land Title Company and Prairie Land Title Company Extension.

The Lincoln office is managed by Jamie Vaughan, Lincoln Office Researcher T.J. Jennings with assistance from Agency Manager Leigh Ann Hughes who works at all three offices.

Guests attending the event helped staff in participating in a ribbon cutting event led by the LDN ribbons cutters. Those on hand included Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch, aldermen Same Downs, Rick Hoefle, Tony Zurkammer and Alderwoman Wanda Lee Rohlfs. Logan County Junior Miss Logan County Fair Isabella Pollice and Little Miss Luci Bobell were on hand along with other members of the community such as local realtors and lenders. Holding the ribbon for the cut were Rohlfs and Logan County Tourism Assistant Lexi Groves.

There was also a very familiar face in the crowd. Morgan Gleason who is the former Logan County Tourism Director is now located in Springfield working for the Prairie Land Title Company.

After the speakers were finished for the day, Vaughan held the scissors for the official photo and then snipped the ribbon in the new business.

Afterward, guests were encouraged to stay for a savory buffet by Heather Cosby of Flossie and Delenza’s in Lincoln.

There were also free giveaway items for guests to select and keep as a memento of the event.

The building Prairie Land Title is in is the former Logan County Title and also has a bit of history going back to days well ahead of the former company. There is a lovely old walk in safe in the building. Honoring the Halloween tradition, the vault was decorated with spooky décor and a mass of cobwebs. Guests were encouraged to step inside if they dared.

Prairie Land Title is a relatively new company, formed in 1996 in Springfield with a goal of provided central Illinois residents with the most professional and responsive title insurance services.

The services the company provide include:

Title Commitments and Insurance
Title Examinations
Letter Searches
Closing and Settlement Services
Construction Escrow Administration
And Document Recording

Prairie Land Title opened its Lincoln offices on February 1, 2022, at 604 Broadway. The company chose not to celebrate that o0pening because it was working on getting into the current location on Pulaski Street.

On June 21 the company made the big move and have spent the last few months getting settled into their new surroundings.

At one time, quite some time ago, Vaughan worked at Logan County title and was familiar with the new location and anxious to get her staff moved in and settled down in a permanent home in Lincoln.

Good Luck to Vaughan and the rest and best wishes for many years to come in Lincoln.
