[September 02, 2022]  LINCOLN - Evelyn L. Last, 87, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Service:  A graveside service for Evelyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.

Evelyn L. Last, 87, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Evelyn was born on September 26, 1934, the daughter of Carroll W. Merriett and Helen M. Miller. She married Leslie August Last on January 16, 1955, in Springfield, at the West Side Christian Church. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2015.

She is survived by two daughters, Leanna (Anthony) Culp of Lincoln and Lavonna (Robert) Boyd of Sachse, TX; grandchildren Kane Blaum of Silverton, CO, Shasta (Brian) Thomson of Lincoln, Luke (Betsy) Boyd of Lincoln, and Karley (Chanse) Hoagland of Lincoln; and six great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Carolyn Karnes.

 

Evelyn was a Girl Scout Leader for eight years in Lincoln. She was also a very active member at Lincoln Christian Church especially with Harvest of Talents and Vacation Bible School. Evelyn was an accomplished seamstress. She made clothes for her children, dresses for her granddaughters, and outfits for her grandchildren’s dolls.

A graveside service for Evelyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made in her name to Little Galilee Camp or Harvest of Talents at Lincoln Christian Church.

Services have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
