Logan County Genealogical and Historical Society hosting fundraiser sale this weekend

A limited number of original poster board architectural drawings entitled, “Lincoln’s Beauties,” featuring many of Lincoln’s unique homes, will be for sale during the Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society’s fall Garage Sale this weekend on Friday and Saturday.

Other featured items include a copy of the 1982 Logan County History, a collection of Abraham Lincoln and other presidential items, collectible postcards, including Smokey the Bear and George Washington Crossing the Delaware, University of Illinois memorabilia, and collections of contemporary pin-on buttons and magnets.

Copies of the Lincoln Centennial issue of the Lincoln Courier will be available along with newspapers headlining the Moon Landing, presidential deaths, and other notable occurrences.

Furniture will include shelving units, chairs, and end tables. An old wooden box telephone along with a Rotary Dial phone have been added to the sale.

Among several pictures being offered is a print of the Logan County Fair grandstand harness races.

Finishing out the list of special attractions are an extra large ceramic bowl, a pitcher and bowl set made by Haeger Pottery, and a Modern Woodsmen of America chest.

Sale hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. The Logan County Genealogical Society is located across the street from the Lincoln Depot.
