The Lincoln Woman’s Club was recently awarded a
$5,000 grant from Ameren Illinois to help pay for the construction
of a new access ramp on the north side of the club building.
The ADA compliant ramp will enable the club to better serve its
members and the community. It is the first of two large projects to
make the building more accessible.
“We are grateful for the partnership with Ameren Illinois. Their
generous grant allows us to begin construction immediately, and now
our fundraising efforts this year will be able to fund local
community projects,” stated Terri McDowell, President of Lincoln
Woman’s Club.
The grant funds were made available through the Ameren Cares
program, which connects Ameren Illinois with the communities it
serves through charitable giving and volunteering. Andrea Parker,
Regional Director of Gas Operations for Ameren Illinois, said the
key focus of the Ameren Cares program is to partner with nonprofit
organizations like the Lincoln Woman's Club to help empower
communities and improve the quality of life in Ameren Illinois'
service territories.

"At Ameren Illinois, we empower the communities we share by
giving back to the places we call home," said Parker. "I can't think of a better
way to do this than by making this building more accessible to everyone."
