[April 23, 2023]    The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved an additional COVID-19 bi-valent mRNA booster dose (Pfizer and Moderna) for individuals 65 and older or for those who are immunocompromised. To be eligible, you must be 65 or older and have received your previous bivalent booster vaccine at least 4 months or more prior.

If you are moderately or severely compromised, you must have received your previous bivalent booster vaccine at least 2 months or more prior. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health both recommend qualified individuals receive the COVID-19 booster in accordance with the new FDA approval.

In support of this new recommendation, the Logan County Department of Public Health (LCDPH) continues to offer the COVID-19 bi-valent booster.

For inventory purposes, the Pfizer brand only is offered on Tuesdays and the Moderna brand only is offered on Thursdays. Vaccines will be offered on a first come, first-serve basis from 7:45 am - 3:45 pm.
