Founded in December of 2018, it is the vision of the Central Illinois Veterans Commission to provide veterans with holistic services designed to eliminate barriers in obtaining permanent housing. CIVC partners with the VA, civic organizations, human service agencies and community colleges to ensure each veteran has access to services including mental health counseling, workplace and financial skills training, life coaching and housing assistance programs.

Since its inception, the organization has built and given three tiny homes to deserving veterans in Lincoln. Two additional homes are currently being completed on Decatur Street in Lincoln. Two additional veterans will soon be welcomed home thanks to the efforts of this organization and many volunteers and supporters. CIVC is extremely grateful for the support of the community and looks forward to a great event on September 15, 2023.
