The Lady Railers defeated the Decatur Eisenhower Panthers 94-28 on Tuesday night at Roy S. Anderson.

Lincoln placed four players in double figures.

Kloe Froebe led Lincoln with 30 points.

Jenna Bowman scored a season-high 18 points.

Makinley Knapp tossed in 11 points and Taryn Stoltzenburg added 10 points.

First Quarter

The Lady Railers had a great offensive first quarter against the Panthers, putting up 40 points. In the first minute of the game, Kloe Froebe had scored all of Lincoln’s baskets as the team led 7-2. By the time the game reached the five minute mark, Lincoln was up 17-2 with Jenna Bowman adding a couple threes to go along with Froebe’s four more points. Less than a minute and a half later Lincoln was up 28-2 with Taryn Stoltzenburg tossing in seven points. Just under the two minute mark the lead was an astonishing 34-4. Froebe tallied the final six points in the first quarter, giving Lincoln the 40-4 lead. And yes, a lot of points were earned off steals and turnovers but the ladies also continue to just make some exceptional passes and really work to find the open “man.”

Second Quarter

By the time the clock showed 5:45 in the second quarter, Froebe exited the game with 27 points and the Lady Railers were up 44-6. After another three by Bowman she would also take a seat on the bench. The subs finished the quarter for Lincoln and with Makinley Knapp taking over in the paint with eight points, the lead escalated to 62-11 at the half.

Third Quarter

The starters were put back in the game in the third quarter to see limited action. Rest assured while they were in the game they continued to work on improving their skills. Coming off a somewhat lackluster night at the rim against Champaign Centennial the night before, the ladies really seemed to find some sweet spots on their home court. Heitzig, Bowman and Froebe each hit threes early in the third quarter to extend the lead to 74-11. Froebe exited the game this time for good at the 2:39 mark and her evening’s work saw her reach 30 points rather effortlessly. Stoltzenburg also shot a three from the top of the key to extend the lead to 79-11. With Tori Geriets scoring four points in the quarter from the paint and Knapp also adding a basket along with the ‘and one’ Lincoln was able to take an impressive 84-14 lead.

Fourth Quarter

Let’s talk about the Panthers for a second. Obviously outmatched from the tip-off, the Panthers really never gave up against Lincoln. It has to be tough to not lose control against a team like the Lady Railers but kudos to the Panthers for hanging in there and playing to the best of their ability. The Panthers even sank four three-pointers in the fourth quarter and this alone drew some pretty big applause from their fans. Meanwhile, Lincoln’s bench tossed in a few final points in the last quarter. Piper Whiteman, Mia Clark and Ceana Adams took care of the scoring here and at the buzzer the final score showed 94-28.
