Obituary
JoAnn Otto Flores
It is with great sadness that the family of JoAnn
Otto Flores, 60, of San Jose, announces her passing
on February 3, 2023 at Unity Point Health Pekin.
JoAnn was born October 18, 1962 in Hopedale, IL the
daughter of Frank Otto Sr. and Deloris Wells. She
married the love of her life Jose Flores Sr. on
November 23, 1979. JoAnn was known to have a heart
of gold and was loved by everyone she knew. Her
quick wit and infectious personality were truly one
of a kind.
JoAnn was a loving and doting wife, mother, and
grandmother. She cherished her children and
grandchildren. She had a special nickname for each
one. Her son, Jose, gave her a very special nickname
years ago. He called her "Free". She enjoyed
cooking, caring for her family, vacuuming, burning
candles, and her weekly shopping trips with her
"sugar". Every week she would post a mouth-watering
menu for her famous Sunday family suppers. Her
greatest joy was spending time with her beautiful
family.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her grandparents,
Sydney Wells and Anna Reel; her parents Frank Otto
Sr. and Deloris Otto; her brothers Johnny Otto and
Thomas Otto; her nephew Thomas Sydney Otto. |
She is survived by her spouse, Jose
Flores Sr. of San Jose; children Anna (Larry) Kolvis
of Emden, Jose (Jennifer) Flores of San Jose, Amy
Flores of Emden, Maria Flores of New Holland;
grandchildren Jayden "Jay" Flores, Kaleb "KLove"
Flores, Logan "Logie" Palladini, Brayden "Punky"
Lane, and RaeLyn "Nummy" Anderson; brothers Charles
(Lisa) Otto, Frankey (Carol) Otto Jr.; nephews
Michael Otto, Ryan Otto, and Andrew Otto; several
great nephews and nieces; special friends of the
family Jeff Lane and Joe Keenan; special pet Maria's
dog Libbi.
A celebration of life will be held at the Community
House in Emden on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1
p.m. Please bring a dish to pass.

Burial will be at Green Hill
cemetery in rural San Jose at a later date.
