2023 Animal Stories Pet Contest
In the Caught in the Act Category
The winner is
Flint

Flint is a British Lab who is not only a family pet, but sometimes the show and tell for pet care training classes conducted by one of his pet parents Dr. Jason Wrage.

The Pet Parent family includes Dr. Jason, Elizabeth and their two daughters Ellie and Olivia. Elizabeth was the one who came to Farm and Home Supply with Flint on Wednesday to collect his prize as the winner of the Caught in the Act category. It was the two girls who suggested that Flint needed to be entered in the pet contest. She said that her two daughters had asked to skip school so they could come too, but the grown ups in the family thought that might not be a good idea. However, she said she would definitely wait until they could come too before she spent the prize money.

Flint, she says has a habit of picking up his food bowl and carrying it around after he has had his meal, perhaps seeking seconds. She snapped a picture of him once and that was the photo the girls wanted to enter.

Even though he has a lot of girls in his life, Elizabeth says he is not into frilly things and doesn’t do dress up very well. The only thing he ever wears is his hunting vest, brightly colored for his safety. Elizabeth says Flint likes to go hunting and is a typical ‘bird dog’ retrieving birds for Jason.

He’s not really big on toys, except there are some Kong toys carried by Farm and Home that Flint does like, so he will probably get a new toy when the family makes their shopping trip.

On Saturday, March 4th, the community is invited to a Grand Opening celebration at Wells Firearms new location at 509 North Chicago Street in Lincoln. The day will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.

The business has moved to the other side of the street and just a bit south of its former location. It features an expanded showroom, classroom training center and a new archery training range. On Saturday, staff and instructors will be on hand to talk about gun safety, archery, and coming soon hatchet tossing.

Owner Jeremy Wells, pictured far right, and his staff including trainers Greg Henrichsmeyer (far left) and Don Winterbauer hope to see you all there!
