Cruisin' for a Cause Special Olympics fundraiser this weekend

The Special Olympics Lincoln Park District Team, in collaboration with the United Riders Motorcycle Club, will be holding its annual "Cruisin’ for a Cause" fundraiser on July 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oasis Senior Center, 2810 Woodlawn Road in Lincoln.

The event will feature a display of antique, sport, and modified motorcycles, cars, and trucks, as well as a variety of other entertainment and festivities. There will be food available, gift baskets, and other items to be raffled, a DJ, and inflatables for the kids.

The funds raised from this event will go 100% directly toward providing individuals with developmental disabilities on the Lincoln Park District Special Olympics Team the opportunity to cultivate friendships, gain functional and social skills, and develop self-respect, courage and other positive character traits through participation in challenging sports competitions.

Specifically, money raised will be used to purchase necessary sports equipment and uniforms and to aid in travel expenses related to competition.
