Extension to Host Free Cooking Classes

Memorial
Wellness Center and the University of Illinois Extension are
partnering to offer a series of free classes on healthy cooking at
Memorial Health hospitals across the area.
All sessions are open to the public. Registration is required as
space is limited. For more information or to register for any of the

Taylorville Memorial Hospital will host “From Freezer to Slow
Cooker: Meals for Busy People” from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
The class will cover food safety tips for freezer meals and how to
use your slow cooker to make delicious meals with little effort.
Attendees will cook a freezer meal to take home during the session.
Register by July 28.

Decatur Memorial Hospital will
also host “From Freezer to Slow Cooker: Meals for Busy People”
from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3. Register by July 28.
Lincoln Memorial Hospital will host “Cooking for One or Two”
from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23. The class focuses on
cooking simple, healthy meals on a smaller scale, as well as
tips for shopping and modifying recipes to accommodate one or
two people. Register by Aug. 22.
