[July 27, 2023]  LINCOLN - Anton Edward “Tony” Nemeth, 55, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Bloomington Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

Visitation:  10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home

Obituary

Anton Edward “Tony” Nemeth, 55, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Bloomington Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

Tony was born July 11, 1968, in Herrin, the son of Ernst Nemeth and Edna (Turner) Mara.

Tony is survived by his mother: Edna (Wayne) Mara of Lincoln, his father: Ernst (Carol) Nemeth of Lincoln, his step siblings: Laura (Tom) Irwin of Lincoln, Becky (Jeff) Bee of St. Charles, Missouri, Karen (Alan) Murrell of Sarasota, Florida, Lynn (Bruce) Kitchen of Maineville, Ohio, and Scott Mara of Ballston Spa, New York; his niece and nephew, Maggie and Aidan Nemeth, both of Lincoln, and his little Buddy, Sutton Buse.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Andre’ and his grandparents.

Tony enjoyed art, painting, and music. He was an avid Chicago Bears and University of Illinois fan. Tony liked to be outside, fishing and camping.

A memorial service for Tony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place one hour prior from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.

Due to family allergies, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tony’s name to the Andre’ Nemeth Children’s Education Fund.
