Obituary
Marian Janssen, 93, of Hartsburg,
passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at St. Clara’s
Rehab and Senior Care.
Marian was born April 7, 1930, in Hartsburg, the
daughter of George and Elizabeth (Seitzer) Reiners.
She was married to Byron Janssen in 1948 until his
death in 2006.
Marian is survived by her sons, Dale (the late
Paula) Janssen and Larry (Peggy) Janssen;
grandchildren, Derrick (Nicole) Janssen, the late
Adam (Kellie) Janssen, Neil Janssen, Benjamin (Sara)
Janssen, Sarah (Shay) Janssen, Natalie (Howard)
Weekley; and eight great-grandchildren.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, Byron; daughter-in-law, Paula Janssen; and
grandson, Adam Janssen. She was the last of her
immediate family. |
Marian was a skilled pianist and
served as church organist for nearly 50 years. She
was also a bookkeeper at Hartsburg Grain, Coal, and
Lumber Company for many years.
Services for Marian will be at 1p.m. on Friday, June
2, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. A visitation will take place two hours
prior from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the service at Hartsburg Union
Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Marian’s name to The
American Cancer Society.
