[June 05, 2023]
The
Fourth Annual Juneteenth Celebration hosted by the Hunt For
Foundation will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 19th at
Scully Park in Lincoln.
The celebration began in 2020 and continues to grow each year.
This year, the event theme is “Taking it Back to Our Roots, Block
Party Style!”
Juneteenth is an exciting celebration planned to commemorate the
emancipation of slavery. It is a place and time when various
backgrounds unite to promote equality, social justice and create
opportunities of inclusiveness in our community.
The event will offer family friendly live
entertainment, activities and resources, including 80-foot obstacle
course, mobile gaming lounge, youth talent show, arts and crafts,
and many giveaways! The festival is comprised of local vendors and
vendors from across the nation promoting their products and
services.
It’s a community cookout, so bring your grills, tents, umbrellas and
water. All are welcome to come with family and friends and take part
in celebrating true American history.
