Two street closures to impact commercial and through traffic  in Lincoln staring Tuesday, June 20th

Beginning Tuesday June 20, 2023, at 8 a.m. two city streets will be closed to allow contractors to repair street cuts due to utility repairs. The main concern is Commercial vehicles and through traffic. Local traffic may find alternate routes when traveling in these areas.

The first closure will be the Westbound lane of Fifth Street between Maple Street and Walnut Street. All through traffic should follow the detour signs which will begin at the intersection of Keokuk and Logan Street taking traffic west on Keokuk Street then Woodlawn Rd to Lincoln Parkway. All commercial vehicles and all through traffic will need to follow the detour route.

A second closure will take place in the Northbound Lane of N. Kickapoo Street Between Tremont St. and Latham Place.

All through traffic south of Clinton Street should follow the detour signs which will take northbound traffic on S. Kickapoo Street west on Clinton Street then north on S. Logan Street. All commercial vehicles and through traffic need to follow the detour route.
