HAVASU CITY, AZ — James (Jim) Herschel Oliver, 71, of Lake Havasu
City, AZ, formerly of Lincoln and Peoria, passed away May 24, 2023.

James (Jim) Herschel Oliver, 71, of
Lake Havasu City, AZ, formerly of Lincoln and
Peoria, passed away May 24, 2023.
A Celebration of Life is planned for July 29 at 11
a.m. at Open Arms Christian Fellowship, 1321 Route10
in Lincoln. Cremation rites were accorded by
Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
He was born in Decatur on March 3, 1952, to Herschel
and Margaret Oliver, who both preceded him in death.
He married Linda S. Turner in 1971. She survives. He
is also survived by his children Jason (Jennifer
Glenn) Oliver of Tulsa, OK, Jennifer (Loyd) Kirby of
Lincoln, Joelle (Matt) Dickinson of Lake Havasu
City, Joshua Oliver of Bloomington, and Jonathon
Oliver of Lake Havasu City; granddaughter Aubrey
Dickinson; and brother Timothy (Sandra) Oliver of
Peoria. Also surviving are nieces Lindsey (Jeff)
Armes and Erin (Aaron) Humphreys; and brother-in-law
Michael (Lupe) Turner.
He graduated from Peoria High School in 1970,
Illinois State Police Academy, and Illinois Fire
Service Institute. He retired from the Office of the
Illinois State Fire Marshal working as an Arson
Investigator and was a member of IAAI, CIFIA, and
AFL-CIO. His Christian faith was an essential part
of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his
family, friends, & pets, watching Cubs games, and
listening to music. |
