Illinois American Water Issues Boil Water Order to Mt. Pulaski starting March 8th
Boil order will remain in effect several days

This week, Illinois American Water will be completing critical upgrades at the Mt. Pulaski water treatment plant. This project will result in a boil water order for the community beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. The work which is an investment of approximately $40,000 includes replacing two valves, installing new piping and replacing the plant flow meter and chemical injection points.

Beginning Wednesday, March 8, at 7 a.m., Mt. Pulaski customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, laundry and other common uses. For more information about boil water orders please view this fact sheet.

Customers are being notified of this impact to their water service in advance so they can prepare. Notification is being provided via media outreach, customer notification via calls and/or email based on customer account preferences and Illinois American Water website alerts at www.illinoisamwater.com. Information is also provided to our customer service center representatives. Landlords are required to keep tenants informed.

The boil water order is expected to be in effect for several days. Notification will be completed in the same manner when the boil water order is lifted or if additional action is needed.
