For
the past ten months a group of community stakeholders have been
meeting to address the need for housing for veterans in central
Illinois and for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The Logan County Housing Coalition has identified the lack of
transitional housing for veterans in central Illinois and other
individuals at risk of homelessness or homeless. The members have
concluded that providing shelter and various supportive services in
one location is the best model and most effective way to address
these local needs. The coalition has a vision of organizations
working together to provide services to the clients they share and
the general public. Examples of on-site support services include
behavioral health counseling, substance use treatment and recovery.
