History
repeated itself when members of Kickapoo Cognizors Questers Chapter
645 gathered on March 22 at the charter’s inaugural meeting site to
celebrate 50 years of membership in the international organization
dedicated to historic preservation and the study of history and
antiques.
Charter member Carol Frantz hosted the special meeting at her home
in Lincoln as she did on the same date in 1973. Two more of the
group’s 11 original members, Sue Beaver of Lincoln and Connie
Bussard of Springfield, also were in attendance. Joining them were
the following members: Nancy Gehlbach, Scotty Hinman, Barb Mauhar,
Theresa Schieffer and Lynn Spellman, all of Lincoln; Sandy Shull of
Middleton; and Nancy Saul and Beverly Willis, both of Bloomington.
The group enjoyed refreshments and reminisced about favorite
Questers-related experiences. In addition, each attendee shared what
was going on in her personal life in 1973. Commemorative mugs were
presented to those in attendance by Spellman, the group’s president.
