Kylee Overton, daughter of Michelle Brinkley and Chris Hanson, has been named “Student of the Year” at Lincolnland Technical Education Center (LTEC) for the 2023 school year and will receive a scholarship sponsored by the Rotary Club of Lincoln.

Kylee, a senior from Lincoln Community High School, completed the LTEC Nursing 101 Program where she was able to obtain medical skills training and be eligible to take the State of Illinois’s Licensure Exam for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while earning college credit through Heartland Community College.

Kylee is high recommended by her instructor, Mrs. Christina Fink. According to Mrs. Fink, Kylee was a model student who was prepared, focused, determined and ready to engage in learning every day. During her clinicals, both patients and staff recognized Kylee for her professional demeanor and her willingness to go above and beyond. Mrs. Fink feels that Kylee will do outstanding things in college and without a doubt, succeed as a leader in the medical profession.

While in attending Lincoln Community High School and LTEC, Kylee has worked at Cracker Barrel for last four years. She also participated in the LCHS Band, Library Club, and the National Honors Society. Kylee is also a member of LCHS Swim/Dive Team and has been its captain for two years. Most recently, Kylee has accepted a position as a Nurse Tech at Lincoln Memorial Hospital and will start her new position after she successfully completes of her state testing for CNA.
