On Monday, November 20, 2023, the Logan County Genealogical and Historical Society hosted its annual dinner at Daphne’s Restaurant in Lincoln.

The guest speaker for the evening was City of Atlanta Tourism Director Scott McCoy, who spoke about the American Giants Museum that is a work in progress in Atlanta. McCoy also spoke about the unique character of the many roadside attractions one can find along the many miles of Route 66, and how those quirky attractions can drive the economy through tourism.

At the Tuesday night meeting of the Lincoln City Council, the evening ended with Mayor Tracy Welch reading a retirement announcement from Lincoln Fire Chief Robert Dunovsky. The Chief will officially leave the department on December 15,2023.

Chief Dunovsky began his firefighting career in 1982 as a cadet with the Claredon Heights Fire Department. He joined the Lincoln city department in 1995. In 2019 he was promoted to Chief upon the retirement of Chief Mark Miller.
